Chris first came to Maidstone in the 1960’s and returned in 1987 after leaving the Royal Navy to join his family printing business living first in Coxheath before moving to Barming.
His career began in the Royal Navy, where he was the First Lieutenant of a minesweeper carrying out fisheries enforcement in UK waters as well as navigating a frigate on operational patrols in the Middle East.

Until recently he ran an ISO Management Systems consultancy employing five staff successfully providing practical quality, environmental and H&S support to businesses across Kent.

In the past he has been a School Governor, run a Church Youth Group with his wife and been actively involved in coordinating local evening professional training events for both the printing and HR professions. He is currently a member of Barming Parish Council.

He got involved in politics following the 2019 General Election.  He worked closely with Dan Daley and following Dans death, Chris was elected as County Councillor for Maidstone Central in a by-election in 2021.

Chris has built a reputation for working hard for local residents, putting his negotiating skills dealing with the many problems that arise particularly relating to many highway issues, local buses, River pollution and the threats to Barming Woods, our local Ancient Woodland.

He is a keen cyclist and will be seen cycling around the Maidstone Central Division over the next few months leading up to the election.
