Joe Higson

Joe is 48 years old and has lived in Maidstone since 2008. Previously he lived in France and Germany and served in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. He moved here to take up a leadership position at a local school, and now works at the local college. He has a 10 year old son who was born here and is at school locally. He has been an active campaigner on local issues with the support of Lib Dem colleagues and won an award from his employer for volunteering in the community during the pandemic. He has worked in education since 2002, after completing his teacher training at Bolton University and a degree at Liverpool. He is a staff representative at work with a health and safety brief, and supports colleagues addressing their issues through casework and collective bargaining.

Joe said: "If elected, my number one priority is working with and supporting local residents."
